Tribute to Dr P Abiola What can I say other than, we have lost a real Gem. No amount of words can describe Phillip. Phillip was the finest Christian and a perfect example for anyone seeking direction in Christ-like behaviour. He was a father, husband, brother, friend and minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He loved God, and was remarkable in everything he did. He was a great man, full of smiles and laughter and I am sure we will all agree that he has left a big hole in our hearts. Phillip loved his family, committed to his work, and lived for others. He was loved and respected by many for his openness, honesty and courage – he always said it how it was. My first memory of him back in the PCT days was, the GP who was always late for monthly Friday meetings but his presence was felt as soon as he arrived. The welcome I received from Phillip after I returned to work in Newham was as if I had never been away. Our conversations took us back in the days of the PCT. He would never leave the CCG office without going round with his big smile, shaking hands and asking whether you were alright. You were the special adviser and motivator to your friends and colleagues. You have left us so soon, who will fill the vacuum you have left? I am really honored to have known you but one thing I know, is that you will forever be in our hearts. If tears could build a stairway, and memories, a lane, we would walk right up to Heaven and bring you back home. We console ourselves to know that God looked around his garden and found an empty space, then he looked down on earth and saw your tired face and he put His arms round you and lifted you to rest. All we can say is that God’s garden must be beautiful, as he only takes the best. Fare thee well Phillip, May your Soul Rest in Perfect Peace Vicky and the Kankam Family.
